- Welcome to the multimedia press kit for The Prince of Egypt.

- Double click The Prince of Egypt icon to launch the program. The
- images and text can be downloaded by clicking the download button
- in each section of the program.
-
- This CD-ROM disc is written for Macintosh/HFS and MS-DOS/ISO 9660
- formats and will work on either the Macintosh or Windows
- platforms.
-
- These are the preferred settings and system requirements for
- The Prince of Egypt CD-ROM press kit on the Macintosh:
-
- Quit all other applications.
-
- Use at least a double speed CD-ROM drive.
-
- DreamWorks' MacroMedia Director™ application is designed
- to run on computers that support a minimum of 256 colors on the
- Macintosh and Windows platforms. If your system supports thousands
- or millions of colors, leave the monitor control panel settings at
- the highest level for the best quality digital movie playback.

- SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR MACINTOSH:
-
- 68030 or better processor
- 8 mb RAM
- 256 color depth support
- Double speed or faster CD-ROM drive
- QuickTime™ v2.0 or better for Macintosh
- (QuickTime™ v2.5 can be installed from the QUICKTIME folder
- located on the CD).
- System 7.0 or higher

- OTHER NOTES:

- Using Kodak Photo CD scans downloaded from the program:
- There are four levels of resolution in the PCD scan. When
- acquiring the image choose the resolution that meets the
- specification for your project. Applications such as Photoshop,
- Quark Express and other desktop publishing tools all accept PCD.
- If you are using Photoshop, make sure you have a Kodak acquire
- module installed in Photoshop's Plug-Ins folder. Kodak Acquire
- Module v2.2 for the Macintosh has been provided in the BONUS
- folder on CD. The Photo CD scans can also be viewed directly off
- the CD by referring to the HI_RES subdirectory located in the DATA
- directory on the CD.

- QuickTime™ v. 2.0 or later must be installed in the extensions
- folder in the system folder on the Macintosh. If QuickTime is not
- already loaded onto your computer, intstall QuickTime™ v.2.5 by
- double-clicking the installer icon located in the QuickTime™
- Install Disk 1 subfolder in the QUICKTIME folder on the CD.

- Double-click on The Prince of Egypt icon to start the program
- on the Macintosh.

- To play the program in Windows 3.1, use the Run command through
- File Manager and choose the PRINCE31.EXE file on the CD. Please
- make sure you have a 16 bit version of QuickTime for Windows
- installed on your system prior to running the program or the
- QuickTime movies included in the program will not play.***

- To play the program in Windows 95, press the Start button and
- click Run. Choose the PRINCE95.EXE file on the CD and click OK.
- Also, please make sure you have a 32 bit version of QuickTime for
- Windows installed on your system prior to running the program or
- the QuickTime movies in the program will not play.***

- 486 computer
- 8 megabytes of RAM
- 2 megabytes of hard drive space
- VGA card & monitor with 256 colors enabled
- SoundBlaster compatible sound card
- Windows 3.1 or later
- Double speed or faster CD-ROM drive
- Printer
- QuickTime™ v1.1 or better for Windows (16 bit for Windows 3.1 and
- 32 bit for Windows 95)
- ***(QuickTime™ for Windows v.2.1.2 Installers for both the 16 and
- 32 bit versions can be found in the QUICKTM directory located on
- the CD)

- WINDOWS NOTES:
-
- If the program suffers from General Protection Faults or it
- exhibits strange-looking screen images, then the most logical
- culprit is the display driver for your video card. Try these
- steps to rule out other possibilities:
- First, set the display to 640x480 pixels with 256 colors, and try
- again. If the problems persist, then take steps to prevent memory
- managers in DOS and Windows from using the video card's memory
- area. (Consult the manual that came with your video card to
- determine this area).
